Therapy
Therapy, also called psychotherapy or counseling, is the process of meeting with a therapist to discuss your problems, gain psycho-education, awareness, and support in changing negative and/or maintaining positive- behaviors, beliefs, feelings, attitudes, perceptions and relationships. Talking to a therapist can be a big first step toward being the “best and healthiest” version of yourself. Take the first step towards Wellness.
Types of Therapy
Teletherapy refers to therapy that is provided by a therapist through a secure, HIPAA compliant video connection, accessed through cell phone, tablet, laptop or computer.
Individual therapy is a form of treatment in which the client is treated on a one-on-one basis with a therapist. The most popular form of therapy, individual therapy, may encompass many different treatment styles, including psychoanalysis and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Couples therapy helps two or more people involved in a romantic relationship, gain insight into their relationship, resolve conflict, and improve relationship satisfaction utilizing various therapeutic interventions.
Family therapy helps improve communication and resolve conflicts and is often short term. It may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate. Family therapy can teach you skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times.
Group therapy is where patients meet to describe, discuss (process) their problems, and learn effective coping skills under a therapist’s supervision. Support groups offer the opportunity to process feelings and learn effective coping skills.
